The Ondo State Government has approved the release of impounded motorcycles as from Wednesday, 12th to Tuesday, 25th July, 2023, after payment of ₦10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) to the Board of Internal Revenue Account.
In a statement by the special adviser to the State government on security matters , Adetunji Adeleye says evidence of ownership and particulars should be provided at the Command’s Headquarters of Amotekun Corps, Alagbaka, before payment.
It added that the exercise will last until 4pm on Tuesday, 25th July, 2023.
The statement reads ” In response to passionate appeals by persons whose motorcycles were impounded by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun
Corps, for defaulting the ban on use of motorcycle after 6pm, the Ondo State Government has approved the release of the motorcycles as from Wednesday, 12th to Tuesday, 25th July, 2023, after payment of ₦10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) to the Board of Internal Revenue Account.
“Motorcycle operators and the general public are to note that the ban is still in force and any further violation by the same motorcyclist shall attract permanent forfeiture to government.
“This window is open only to those who have their motorcycles registered before they were impounded.
“Evidence of ownership and particulars should be provided at the Command’s Headquarters of Amotekun Corps, Alagbaka, before payment.
“The exercise will last until 4pm on Tuesday, 25th July, 2023.”
