Nigerian content creator, Olamide Ogunleye, popularly known as Oluwadolarz, has recently made a startling revelation about a disturbing encounter he had with a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
On Sunday night, Oluwadolarz took to Instagram to recount how a supposed industry heavyweight demanded a sexual favour in exchange for helping him promote his music.
In his Instagram story, Oluwadolarz exposed the conversation, stating that the entertainer told him he would only endorse his music after engaging in a sexual act.
The comedian and singer shared, “You will promote my songs. Endorse my music. Help me top chart. But make I first bend over make you enter my Yansh. E.n.k.r sir.”
Primarily known for his comedic content, Oluwadolarz has also ventured into music, often creating comedic renditions of popular songs.
One of his notable musical endeavors occurred in 2018 when he released his own version of Olamide Badoo’s hit song ‘Science Student’.
This rendition stirred controversy, with rumours circulating that Olamide was displeased with the remake.
However, this was in contrast to an earlier experience when Olamide had shared Oluwadolarz’s version of his song ‘Wo’ on Instagram.
The apparent snub on ‘Science Student’ left many fans speculating about the artist’s true feelings.
In an interview with ‘Sunday Scoop, Oluwadolarz addressed the incident, noting that he never intended to offend Olamide.
He explained, “When I did a version of ‘Wo’, Olamide shared it on his Instagram page; so, I felt he would like this too. Before I was told that he was unhappy with my interpretation, I had the feelings too. But when I met him at a video shoot, he didn’t say a word about it. He greeted me and said it was nice to meet me.”
Oluwadolarz went on to suggest that Olamide’s dissatisfaction might have been tied to the fact that his interpretation of ‘Science Student’ highlighted certain controversial elements embedded within the song.
He also acknowledged the anti-drug message in Olamide’s original video, saying, “If you watch his video well, you will see that he was fighting against the use of drugs.”
Despite the setbacks and challenges, Oluwadolarz remains humble about his career trajectory.
In an August 4, 2024, The PUNCH reported that the content creator admitted that no matter how much success he achieves, he still considers himself an up-and-coming artist, continuously striving to improve his craft.
Earlier in 2024, he collaborated with Smile T on a track titled ‘Fuchor Me’, further solidifying his presence in the Nigerian music scene while maintaining his comedic roots.
Oluwadolarz’s recent revelation about the unsolicited advance highlights some of the darker sides of the entertainment industry, a topic that has sparked conversations across social media platforms as fans and colleagues weigh in on the incident.
As his story continues to unfold, it underscores the challenges faced by rising talents, particularly those navigating the complex dynamics of fame and exploitation within the entertainment world.
