Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, has reaffirmed the government’s dedication to advancing women’s empowerment and safeguarding child rights as part of its broader commitment to improving citizens’ welfare in 2025.
Speaking at the ministry’s annual lecture, prayer, and award ceremony held at the Abeokuta Sports Club, Adeleye emphasized the administration’s resolve to enhance social development initiatives.
She stated, “Together, we will continue to break barriers, champion social development and uplift the lives of women and children across the state. As we step into 2025, let us renew our commitment to the mission of this ministry. Our goals remain clear: to empower women, protect children and drive inclusive social development.
“This year, we will intensify our efforts, push boundaries and create opportunities that transform lives across our dear state. Together, we can achieve even greater milestones and make 2025 a year of exceptional impact.”
Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of Governor Dapo Abiodun, Adeleye also acknowledged the contributions of development partners, particularly the United Nations Population Fund and the Ogun State Transformation Projects, highlighting their role in the ministry’s achievements.
Delivering the keynote lecture, former Head of Service, Selimot Otun, underscored the crucial role of social workers in fostering social stability and development.
In her paper titled ‘Role and Impact of Social Workers in Society’, she urged ministry staff to uphold professionalism, enhance service delivery, and work towards reshaping public perception through dedication and integrity.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Jola Oyeneye, in his lecture, stressed the importance of streamlining bureaucratic procedures to minimize administrative hurdles.
He encouraged public officials to align with the administration’s objectives by fostering effective partnerships and collaborations.
The event also featured the recognition of outstanding ministry staff and development partners with awards of excellence in appreciation of their contributions to social development.
