The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa has criticized the process leading to his removal, insisting that lawmakers failed to adhere to constitutional procedures.
According to The PUNCH, addressing a large gathering of supporters at the Speaker’s Lodge, 47 GRA Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, Obasa dismissed the allegations of corruption that formed the basis for his impeachment, labeling them “impossible.”
“The lawmakers did not follow constitutional procedure in removing me as Speaker,” he said, adding, “I am not disturbed, I am not afraid of the developments that happened at the assembly.”
Obasa refuted claims of financial misappropriation leveled against him, describing the accusations as baseless and lacking merit.
