Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC on election duty were involved in an accident Friday evening at the Giri Roundabout bridge, Abuja.
The Officers were on their way to Lagos conveying election duty materials including NSCDC security.
While giving an account of the incident, an unnamed eyewitness who was at the scene told the press that some of the officials were injured but couldn’t confirm if any life was lost.
In his words “When this accident happened, I don’t know whether its tire that burst but I saw the accident clear.
“The people at the back which they wound, the other person was wound at the head, I don’t know whether he can survive, this is just for help.
“Some of the senior officers followed them to Gwagwalada.”
The accident is coming barely 24 hours before the general election.
Aa at the time of filling this report the number of casualties is not yet known.
