The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to hold off on protests, assuring that it is actively addressing the concerns raised by citizens.
Following a Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, addressed State House Correspondents, stating that the government is taking significant steps to tackle the issues at hand.
Idris highlighted that one of the key measures includes distributing rice to various centers nationwide, priced at N40,000 per bag.
He emphasized that this initiative marks the beginning of broader efforts to ensure food availability and affordability.
“The government is heavily investing in the agricultural sector, which we believe will lead to a reduction in food prices as we progress,” the Minister stated.
He also addressed the concerns of the youth, noting that the government is committed to providing answers. “The student loan program guarantees that no young person who wishes to pursue higher education will be excluded.
Additionally, the implementation of Compressed Natural Gas for transportation is expected to alleviate transportation challenges,” Idris explained.
The Minister reassured that the government’s ongoing efforts aim to address the root causes of the citizens’ grievances and improve overall conditions in the country.
