The family of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and a senior Nigerian attorney, Mike Ozekhome, will release a one million cheque for Kanu’s medication and feeding on Friday.
After visiting Kanu on Thursday with his family, Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s special counsel, raised the alarm.
Ejimakor said, “I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in company of Prince Emma Kanu and Barr. Nnaemeka Ejiofor.
“He instructed me to make it public that he has not been given his drugs for the past nine days and he has not eaten today because DSS says that they don’t have money to buy his food.”
Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emma Kanu, corroborated this event by stating, “This is a confirmed story.
“Yesterday (Thursday), when we visited him, he has not had any food.
“I asked them (DSS) why, they said that there is no money for his regular meal and that they don’t have any money.
“So, we have also explained everything to the SAN, Mike Ozekhome.
“By today, SAN will prepare a cheque of N1m to be handed over to the DSS for his feeding.
“I will also make sure I raise money and take the DSS along with me to make sure he has enough food to eat since the federal government can’t take care of him.”nna
