Nigeria international, Emmanuel Dennis has returned to former club Watford on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the 2023-24 season.
This was made known by the Sky Bet Championship club on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old forward was part of the Hornets side relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
Dennis, who scored 10 goals across 37 games during his first spell at Vicarage Road, spent the first half of this term on loan at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Nigeria international started his career with Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk and first joined Watford from Club Brugge in June 2021, completing his move to Forest the following summer.
He has since then fought hard to pick his form with Forest, scoring just twice in 25 appearances since his £20million move following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Watford have confirmed the signing of Emmanuel Dennis on loan from Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season
Watford’s social media accounts shared images of the forward wearing the club’s current kit following the announcement
He was shipped out on loan under former manager Steve Cooper, and played eight times for Istanbul Basaksehir before the end of his loan.
New Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo doesn’t seem to have Dennis in his arrangements either, notwithstanding, and has consented to permit him to spend the rest of the campaign with Watford in the division below.
Watford currently stand at ninth position in the Championship table under Valerien Ismael, three points off the play-off spots in a bid to return to the Premier League at the second time of asking.
‘The rumours are true, Watford’s official X account posted as the announced the return of the forward.
Dennis gave a short message to supporters on social media while standing pitch-side at Vicarage Road.
They announced his signing with a compilation of clips and commentary surrounding his first stint at the club, ending with a few words from the player himself, “Let’s run it back.”
They later shared a photo of the player in Watford’s kit, and asked fans if they are ‘hyped’ following his return.
In a short video shared on the club’s social media, Denies said, “Hello Watford fans. I’m so happy to be here, the menace is back, and I’m looking forward to seeing you lot on Sunday.”
