Nigerian midfielder, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, made his debut for Inter Milan on Sunday.
The 19-year-old stepped onto the field for Inter Milan in their resounding 4-0 victory away at Lecce in Serie A, and the midfielder etched his name in the record books.
Akinsanmiro, who joined the Nerrazzuri from Remo Stars, was introduced in the 76th minute with the game already won.
During his 20 minutes on the pitch, he won three duels and created one chance.
Akinsanmiro, who is not the first Nigerian to wear the iconic black and blue stripes now following in the footsteps of the likes of Nwankwo Kanu, Taribo West, Obafemi Martins, Nwankwo Obiora, Joel Obi and Obinna Nsofor as Nigerians who have played for Inter.
His debut marked a significant moment for his former academy, Beyond Limits Academy, at Remo Stars in Nigeria.
Akinsanmiro’s adaptation to Italian football was swift, impressing the coaching staff at the youth level.
He played a pivotal role in Inter Primavera’s U-19 Scudetto victory last season, showcasing his technical ability and tactical awareness on the pitch.
His commitment and rapid development earned him a call-up to the senior team, leading to his debut on Sunday.
Inter have now gone nine points clear of Juventus at the top of the league with 66 points.
It was also the 10th straight victory for Simeone Inzaghi’s men.
