A 28-year-old Nigerian man, Nicolas Aina, reportedly stabbed his 64-year-old mother, Caroline Adeyelu, to death while he also injured his 33-year-old sister, Angel Adeyelu, at their family house in Dagenham, East London, United Kingdom.
According to iTv news, Aina was said to have went to his sister’s bedroom where he stabbed her repeatedly.
He was also said to have lunged the knife at the mother, Caroline who rushed to the room when she heard screams.
Caroline was said to have died on the spot while his sister was treated in hospital for stab wounds and discharged.
Aina was said to have fled the scene immediately after the incident.
A neighbour, Samantha Southey said,” , “I just heard a bit of commotion last night. The police knocked on the door and said they caught the person. It’s a little bit frightening.”
Aina was reported to have appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court before Judge Philip Katz KC, on Tuesday, November 1, where he was charged with murder and attempted murder.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Old Bailey Court on Thursday.
Superintendent Richard Vandenbergh of the East Area Command Unit called the occurrence as “really disturbing.”
