The Nigeria Customs Service reported a record-breaking revenue collection of N6.1 trillion for 2024, marking a 90.4% increase from the N3.2 trillion generated in 2023.
Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, disclosed these figures during a press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday.
He attributed the milestone to strategic reforms and heightened operational efficiency within the agency.
“The Nigeria Customs Service recorded an unprecedented performance in 2024, achieving N6.105 trillion in revenue. This is 22% higher than the N5.07 trillion revenue target set for the year,” Adeniyi stated.
He further revealed that October 2024 saw the service’s highest-ever monthly revenue remittance, amounting to N603 billion.
“The service reached new milestones in trade facilitation and revenue collection, demonstrating our commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth,” Adeniyi added.
The CGC attributed the success to improved trade policies, enhanced border management, and the dedication of customs officers across the country.
