The Police Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has reacted to reports of electoral violence in different parts of the country as Nigerians vote for the 2023 elections.
The police relations officer called the reports ‘pockets’ of issues in different areas.
“Good day. Command PPROs have been directed to respond to a pocket of issues being recorded in some areas. The nos for distress calls have widely been circulated. Many of you here should know that @Princemoye1 is at the FHQ abuja.,’ He tweeted.
However, the police chief stated further in his tweet the officers of the Nigerian police can only do little to combat the ugly incident
“I can only put our officers on the field on their toes and do the needful. Check our pinned tweets, you see the nos there, and visit our web, http://npf.gov.ng, for the same nos. Also, when you call us in abuja, always mention the town, LG, and the state because many of our officers who receive these calls are not familiar with these wards and localities you mention. We thank you for ur commitment and steadfastness. Ire o…” the twitter thread ended.
Premium politics have earlier reported different incidences of electoral violence ranging from ballot box snatching, voter suppression, thuggery in Lagos, Imo, Enugu and others.
