Lagos state’s presidential election has been won by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president.
As the results from all 20 LGAs in the state were tallied, Peter Obi defeated Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress.
Remember that the former two-time Lagos governor, Tinubu has always had a stronghold in the SouthWest region.
See some reactions following Labour Party’s win in Lagos;
@renoomokri wrote; “How can Bola Tinubu still win this election, when he has lost his adopted state of Lagos, and his supposed state of Osun, and the seat of power, Abuja FCT? Well, miracles and magic are still possible. But the votes of Nigerians in #NigerianElections2023 must count!”
@mrmacaronii tweeted; Despite all the violence and intimidation unleashed in Lagos, Peter Obi has won Lagos State!!! The margin should be way more!!! I just want the people to know that the power is in our hands!!! They said no structure!! They said it is internet noise!!! LESSONS!!!!!”
@Omojuwa tweeted; “A humbling loss for the APC in Lagos. Democracy at its best. Votes count. This is yet another proof of that. This is an unprecedented result. Big win for Labour Party, big loss for the APC, irrespective of the final presidential result.”
@lex_Teflondon tweeted “Peter Obi did not defeat Bola Tinubu in Lagos, Nigerians did.”
