Voters in Alimosho local government, Lagos State, have decried the unavailability of the INEC officials expected to be at designated polling units.
Polling units across the local government especially around Igando, Iba, First gate and it’s environs, have been without INEC officials at the point of filing this report at past 11 am.
Without shade, the voters have remained under the sun even as they lament and hope for the arrival of the INEC officials.
A voter, Mrs. Oge told Punch Metro that she had gotten to her polling unit at 7am in the bid to be among the early voters.
Another voter who wishes to maintain anonymity explained that he got to his polling unit at Isuti Road, Igando before 8 am and has since, remained under the sun.
He, however, resolved that he won’t leave until he has casted his vote in favour of Peter Obi.
With obvious frustration and pea sizes of perspiration on his forehead, an eligible voter, Tunji Akindele, aggressively explained that he never imagined that he would be at his polling unit for over five hours now.
According to him, he joined some persons at his polling unit in Igando before 7am and until the time of writing this story, the INEC officials for that unit had not arrive.
