The Nigerian Navy on Thursday completed a deal to build a 4,000 metric tonnes Liquefied Petroleum Gas Coastal Gas Transportation Barge, the first of its kind, for Dateline Energy Services Limited.
According to the Nation, this was disclosed at the event which was held at the Naval Dockyard Limited on Victoria Island in Lagos, by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, saying it marked a significant milestone for the Nigerian Navy, the Naval Dockyard Limited, Dateline Energy Services and the nation.
He explained that the proposed construction of the 4,000 metric tonnes LPG Coastal Gas Transportation Barge was indicative of how far the institutions and the nation had developed capacity to indigenise the construction of such an enormous and complex vessel.
The CNS, represented by Rear Admiral Hamzat Kaoje, was confident that the partnership would enhance the growth of Research and Development, indigenous vessel construction and local content development towards building sustainable paths to progress.
