The Nigeria Football Federation is set to convene on Wednesday with appointing a foreign technical adviser as a top agenda item.
The recent outburst of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen towards former coach Finidi George is also expected to be discussed.
Three candidates are reportedly in contention to replace Finidi George as the head coach of the Super Eagles.
Before Finidi George’s departure, the NFF had announced plans to hire a foreign technical adviser.
Following Finidi’s exit, it is understood that this foreign coach will take over as the chief coach.
Antonio Conceicao is expected to be named the next coach of the Super Eagles. However, there are calls within the community for the consideration of a local coach.
Embattled Cameroon coach Marc Brys is reportedly one of the tacticians the NFF has approached for the job.
With Finidi’s departure, the NFF faces financial constraints in hiring a foreign coach, who would likely demand a salary of at least $50,000 monthly.
As a result, the NFF is also considering local coaches. Samson Siasia and Salisu Yusuf have been mentioned as potential candidates who could fit the federation’s budget.
Although the NFF has remained silent on the recent controversy involving Victor Osimhen and Finidi George, reports suggest that the NFF may establish a disciplinary committee to address Osimhen’s actions.
