The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, has announced that communication aides would be provided to enhance officiating in the upcoming 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Gusau made this disclosure at the Annual General Meeting held in Abuja.
He disclosed, “We have finalized the acquisition of communication gadgets aimed at reducing errors, which will be deployed from the start of the new season.”
Highlighting the season opener, Gusau stated, “Rangers International and El-Kanemi Warriors will feature in the star game on August 31.”
He also revealed ongoing efforts to collaborate with international partners for the training of referees in Video Assistant Referee operations.
Chairman of the NPFL, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, emphasized the league’s commitment to building on recent successes, stating, “We acknowledge areas for improvement within the NPFL, and this season, our focus is on advancing these achievements.”
The draw ceremony, graced by former Nigerian football legends including Austin Eguavoen, Peter Rufai, and Garba Lawal, marked the beginning of preparations for a full season format.
