The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious phone snatcher, Zahraddeen Ja’afaru, a male resident of the Angwan Jaba area of Lafia, the state capital.

The State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.
The statement said the arrest of the suspect followed a complaint lodged at the ‘A’ Division, Lafia of the Nigeria Police on Tuesday.
Nansel disclosed that the thieves were reported to have broken into a house behind Sabo Garage in Lafia and made away with three mobile phones and a power bank.
“Police operatives attached to the said Division carried out a comprehensive investigation which led to the arrest of one Zahraddeen Ja’afaru ‘M’ of Angwan Jaba, Lafia.
“A search warrant was executed at his residence where four (4) stolen phones and a power bank were recovered.
“Furthermore, seventy-one (71) SIM cards of different network service providers were also recovered as exhibits,” Nansel stated..
The PPRO noted that the suspect has confessed to his involvement in a series of house-breaking, theft, and snatching of handsets from members of the public in Lafia and its environs.
State Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has issued directives to the Divisional Police Officer to double efforts in apprehending the suspect’s accomplices.
CP Nadada stressed the importance of a thorough investigation while enjoining swift action to bring all culprits to justice.
