The late president of Namibian president Hage Gottfried Geingob was on Sunday laid to rest at Windhoek, Namibia’s capital.
His remains was lowered six feet below after 21 gun salutes.
A state memorial service was held Saturday for Namibian President Hage Gottfried Geingob at the Windhoek Independence Stadium ahead of his burial on Sunday.
Geingob, 82, died on February 4 at a Windhoek hospital. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer.
The Saturday funeral was attended by 18 foreign heads of state and government.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe said his country and the region had lost a pillar of support.
It would be recalled that Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Saturday, lead a presidential delegation to the state funeral Of Hage Geingob, the late president of Namibia.
