A bank’s automated teller machine was set on fire by irate youths in Warri, Delta State, on Wednesday in protest at the state’s lack of banknotes.
As frustrated youths have continued to express their aggression through protest, this is not the first instance of such riotous demonstrations taking place around the nation.
Three unnamed young people were declared deceased just a few hours ago as a result of the demonstration in front of the Central Bank of Nigeria branch in Benin, Edo State.
Sources claim that on Wednesday, the protesters used sticks, stones, and other weapons to attack and destroy a First Bank branch in the area before going on to the CBN branch with the intention of damaging it.
As a result, troops in military trucks fired gunshots and tear gas grenades while driving out of the bank.
Similar to this, demonstrators stormed the CBN and AGF offices in Abuja over issues with the new and old naira.
