The Federal Capital Territory Administration has cautioned medical doctors in hospitals against rejecting patients because of the lingering cash swap crisis.
The Mandate Secretary, FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat, Dr Abubakar Tafida, said the administration had established means of payment by patients to douse the tension while trying to receive medical attention in hospital. Tribune reports
He stressed that all medical directors have been directed to make use of the multiple Point of Sale operators at the moment in their various hospitals as an alternative means of payments for the medical bills.
While speaking with journalists, in Abuja, Tafida advised that the administration would sanction any medical officials that refuse to carry out his duty and turn back patients because of the current cash crunch being experienced in the country due to CBN new cashless policy.
He promised the residents of the FCT that the administration is doing everyrhing in their capacity to address the challenge.
Dr Tafida pointed out that the situation is not just peculiar to the FCT but a nationwie challenge which he vowed would soon end.
