Super Falcons Forward, Asisat Oshoala, has disclosed that her father was not happy with the way she celebrated her goal against the Matilda’s of Australia.
The Barcelona striker scored what proved to be a decisive goal for the Nigerian side against Australia at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.
Oshoala who was brought into the game in the second half pounced on a defensive error by Australia to give the Falcons their third goal.
She later whisked away in pure ecstasy to the far corner as she took off her jersey to celebrate her goal.
The manner in which she celebrated her goal generated mixed reactions on social media; while many supported her choice, others knocked her for removing her top.
For sporting reasons, the removal meant that Oshoala was issued a yellow card as it was a bookable offence. This might come back to haunt her and the team if she gets booked again.
While commenting on her celebration pattern, she said through her official Instagram page, “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration, but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS”.
