Wahab Shittu (SAN), the lawyer representing the family of the late Nigerian singer and rapper Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, has disclosed that the artist sustained injuries following an altercation with his friend, Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy.
Speaking after a coroner’s inquest in Ikorodu on Wednesday, Shittu revealed that the testimony of MohBad’s assistant, Darosa, provided crucial insights into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.
Primeboy has been repeatedly detained as a suspect in the investigation into MohBad’s demise.
Addressing the media, Shittu highlighted three key points from Darosa’s testimony:
“Today, three things were revealed from Darosa’s testimony,” Shittu stated. “One, Mohbad sustained injuries from his scuffle with Primeboy. Two, a nurse was called in who injected Mohbad. And three, Mohbad and his wife occasionally had misunderstandings.”
The lawyer emphasized the importance of these revelations in uncovering the cause and manner of Mohbad’s death, adding that the inquiry should focus on facts rather than sentiments.
“We are here to find out the cause and manner of death,” Shittu said. “Darosa has been able to beam light on some of these issues.”
Mohbad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023. Following the initial government-conducted autopsy, which reportedly failed to provide a conclusive cause of death, the family has called for a second autopsy.
