Argentina Talisman and Paris Saint Germain forward, Lionel Messi, has broken the record of the most-liked post on Instagram with his World Cup win pictures.
The Argentine took to Instagram to shower his fans with thrilling pictures after an exhilarating penalty shootout win over France, at the just concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
His World Cup-winning post has now surpassed the ‘egg post’ to become the most-liked in the history of Instagram.
The post which was shared on the giant Meta social media platform on Sunday has, as at the time of filing this report, accumulated 57,661,107 likes and 1,644,311 comments, surpassing that of the popular uncracked egg post, shared in January, which had 56.1 million.
Together with the pictures, he wrote, “WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!! I dreamed it so many times, I wanted it so much that I still haven’t fallen, I can’t believe it…..
“Thank you very much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We demonstrate once again that Argentines when we fight together and united we are capable of achieving what we set out to do. The post has also surpassed Ronaldo’s post from last month, of an advert for the giant fashion brand, Louis Vuitton, featuring himself and Lionel Messi playing chess, accumulating 41.9 million likes.
