Lionel Messi has returned to the training ground of French League side, Paris Saint Germain following his suspension from the club.
This was disclosed by the club through its official Twitter account on Monday.
“Leo Messi returns to training Monday morning,” the club tweeted.
His return increases the likelihood that he will play in PSG’s home match against relegation-threatened Ajaccio the following Saturday.
With four matches remaining, PSG holds a six-point advantage over Lens in their Ligue 1 title defence.
The club owned by Qatar suspended him after he missed Monday’s training session. He was reported to have traveled to Saudi Arabia without the club’s permission.
PUNCH METRO reported that Messi subsequently apologised in a video posted on Instagram to his 458 million followers.
“I had organised this trip to Saudi Arabia having cancelled it previously. This time I couldn’t cancel it. I am sorry for what I did and I wait to see what the club decides to do,” he said.
