Renowned gospel artist, Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, have praised outgoing United States President, Joe Biden, for his dedicated service to humanity.
In a statement on Tuesday, the couple expressed their admiration for Biden, acknowledging his recognition of their impact on American society through uplifting and faith-filled music that fosters hope and inspiration.
Quoting scripture, they reflected on the significance of time and legacy, “Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, ‘To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.’
“As President Joe Biden’s time in office draws to a close, we are reminded of the passage of time and the seasons of life. Each chapter, no matter how significant, eventually gives way to the next. It is a poignant reminder that what truly matters is the legacy we leave behind—the values we uphold, the lives we touch, and the good we do for others.
“In the spirit of gratitude, we are deeply honoured to have received the President Biden Lifetime Achievement Award last year. This recognition serves as a powerful reminder to remain committed to serving humanity through charity, education, and the principles of faith.
“We extend our sincere thanks to President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for this honour and for their dedication to championing the power of service and community impact.
“We wish them love and peace as they retire home as senior citizens of the United States of America.”
Back in October 2024, Biden, 82, presented Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa with the President’s Lifetime Service Award in recognition of their outstanding dedication to serving communities both in the U.S. and globally.
In a heartfelt letter accompanying the award, Biden wrote, “The American story depends not on any one of us, not on some of us, but on all of us. I congratulate you on taking it upon yourselves to contribute to the public good, and I am proud to present you with the President’s Lifetime Service Award in recognition of your 5,000 hours of service to this great nation.
“By sharing your time and passion, you are helping discover and deliver solutions to the challenges we face—solutions that we need now more than ever. We are living in a moment that calls for hope and light and love. Hope for our futures, light to see our way forward, and love for one another. Through your service, you are providing all three.”
The President’s Lifetime Service Award is one of the highest civil honours in the United States, awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to volunteerism and nation-building.
Married in August 2022, Mercy Chinwo and Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa co-founded Grace and Truth Nation (GNT Nation), a music label that has nurtured numerous gospel talents.
GNT Nation also operates a charitable arm, the Mercy Is Blessed Foundation, which has spearheaded several philanthropic initiatives in Nigeria.
The duo’s mission is to spread the love and teachings of Jesus Christ through music and outreach, inspiring people to worship God and live out their faith daily.
