Manchester United have submitted a follow-up offer for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, estimated to be around £45 million with an additional £5 million in potential add-ons.
Manchester United had their initial bid for Jarrad Branthwaite, valued at £35 million plus add-ons, rejected by Everton in June.
Branthwaite featured in 35 Premier League matches for Everton last season.
During a Premier League match at Goodison Park on April 24, 2024, Jarrad Branthwaite celebrated with his teammates after scoring the first goal for Everton.
In an effort to secure the Everton defender, Manchester United have submitted a second offer reportedly amounting to £45 million plus £5 million in add-ons. However, this bid is also expected to be turned down by Everton.
Sky Sports News previously reported that Everton rejected United’s initial offer, which was significantly below their valuation of Branthwaite, with sources indicating the bid was around £35 million plus add-ons.
Despite playing 35 times for Everton last season, Branthwaite was not included in England’s Euro 2024 preliminary squad.
Manchester United, aiming to bolster their defense following Raphael Varane’s departure at the end of the last season, have identified this as a priority during the summer transfer window.
The 2024 summer transfer window for both the Premier League and the Scottish Premiership is now officially open and will close on August 30 at 11 pm UK time in England and 11:30 pm in Scotland.
This shift in the deadline aligns the closing dates with those of other major European leagues, following discussions with leagues in England, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France.
