Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended a man, Victor Lorjaal, for allegedly killing his mother, Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, and his elder sister, Brenda Lorjaal, at Aba Ile camp in Itaji-Ekiti.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, the tragic incident occurred on March 25, 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m. while the family was working on their farm.
“One of the deceased’s children, who witnessed the event, reported that he was working alongside the suspect when Victor suddenly left and approached their mother and sister, who were at a different section of the farm,” Abutu said in a statement released in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.
The eyewitness recounted hearing his mother’s desperate cries for help. “Before he could reach them, the suspect had already carried out the gruesome act and fled with the cutlass he used,” Abutu added. When the witness arrived at the scene, he found both victims lying in a pool of blood.
Following the arrest, the State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
“The suspect will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,” Abutu confirmed.
The police have assured the public that justice will be served as the investigation progresses.
