Croatia’s Luka Modrić has set a new milestone by becoming the oldest player to score in a EURO tournament.
At 38 years and 289 days, the midfielder netted the opening goal against Italy in UEFA EURO 2024, shortly after missing a penalty saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.
A few other notable names feature among the top ten oldest scorers in EURO history.
Among them is Cristiano Ronaldo, who, at 39, has the potential to surpass Modrić’s record if he scores in Germany.

Leonardo Bonucci holds the record as the oldest player to score in a EURO final, having done so at 34 years and 71 days during Italy’s 1-1 draw with England in the EURO 2020 final, where he became only the second player over 30 to score in a EURO decider.
