Forwards Amine Gouiri and Mason Greenwood found the net late as Marseille secured a 2-0 victory over Nantes on Sunday, maintaining their grip on second place in the French league.
The win keeps them three points ahead of Nice in the battle for Champions League qualification.
Greenwood set up the opener in the 73rd minute, lofting a well-placed pass over the defense to Valentin Rongier, who teed up Gouiri for a composed finish.
Just four minutes later, Greenwood dazzled with individual brilliance, dribbling past three defenders before curling in his 15th league goal of the campaign.
His tally places him three goals behind Ligue 1’s top scorer, Ousmane Dembélé, whose unbeaten Paris Saint-Germain side holds a commanding 13-point lead at the summit.
Meanwhile, third-placed Nice sits three points ahead of Monaco and maintains a five-point cushion over Lille in the race for European spots.
