Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, on Monday rescued a drunk driver who rammed into a road media at C.M.S inward outer Marina area of Lagos.
Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq in a statement said the driver of a Volkswagen Space bus with registration number AAW 56 AA rammed into the road media on top high speed and got trapped.
According to the statement, the General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki who was on a monitoring tour with top management of the agency visited the accident scene and appealed to the motoring public not to drink while driving and to obey all traffic regulations in order to ensure safety.
The statement reads in part, “Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) early this morning rescued a drunk driver who rammed into a road media at C.M.S inward outer Marina area of Lagos.
“The driver of a Volkswagen Space bus with registration number AAW 56 AA rammed into the road media on top high speed and got trapped.
“A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Volkswagen Space bus lost control and rammed into the road media as a result much intake of alcohol.
“Immediately the accident happened, Lastma personnel working around CMS outer Marina rushed to the accident scene and rescued the driver who was later rushed to ‘Odan’ General Hospital for medical treatment.
“Police men from ‘ Lion Building’ provided security backup while Lastma personnel recovered the trapped vehicle off the media to enable free vehicular movement inward outer Marina.
“The General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki who was on a monitoring tour with top management of the agency visited the accident scene and appealed to the motoring public not to drink while driving and to obey all traffic regulations in order to ensure safety. ”
