Some thugs have invaded St. Bridget Catholic Church ljesha, Surulere Lagos, and catered away machines used by the Independent National Electoral Commission for Continuous Voters Registration ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to Vanguard, the incident which occurred on Friday forced the Parish Priest of the church to lock the premises.
An eye witness, Amb. Princess Okojie Odigie who reported the incident said the thugs carted away with PVC machines, stating if they are allowed to register for their PVC, they will vote for Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
Odigie said, “This is St. Bridget Catholic Church, where there was supposed to have been PVC collection and registration today. To our greatest amazement, the Police are just coming in.
“Some hoodlums came into the Catholic Church carried away the machine, depriving a lot of people from registration, saying that if they register they are likely to vote for Peter Obi, is that what we will continue to face in this country.
“Are we not going to take this country back? With this kind of situation, how are we going to take this country back? How are we going to fight this corruption? How are we going to take this country back and let the country move?
“Now, as I am talking to you now, a lot of people are disenfranchised, a lot of people are discouraged, a lot of people are stranded, we don’t really know where we are facing in this country. where are we going?
“How can somebody come into a church, a reputable church like this magnitude, come to carry the machine with which they are giving PVC today 29th of July, 2022? where are we going Nigerians?
