Operatives of the Lagos State Environment and Security Taskforce have taken action against motorists who illegally parked their vehicles near Cubana Club, obstructing traffic along Sobo Arobiodu Road in GRA Ikeja.
The operation was carried out in the early hours of Saturday, according to a statement released by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
The enforcement, which took place at around 1 a.m., resulted in the confiscation of 28 vehicle number plates. These vehicles were found to have violated Lagos State traffic regulations by blocking the flow of traffic in the area.
The statement from the Commissioner read, “The Lagos State Environmental/Security Taskforce team today at about 0100hrs (1a.m) carried out a night enforcement operation, during which number plates of vehicles parked illegally in front of Cubana (Night Club), obstructing the free flow of traffic along Sobo Arobiodu road, GRA Ikeja, were untied and confiscated accordingly.”
It was further disclosed that the owners of the impounded vehicles will face legal consequences. “Owners of the offending vehicles will all be charged to court,” the statement added.
The operation is part of the state’s broader effort to enforce traffic regulations and ensure the smooth flow of traffic, particularly in busy areas like GRA Ikeja.
