A popular Lagos socialite and skincare expert, Farida Abdulqadir, has begged for forgiveness, over her suicide attempt on the third mainland bridge, on Thursday.
King Phreedah, as she is popularly known, tendered her unreserved apology, via a now viral video on social media, on Friday August 18, 2023.
It would be recalled that the skin care expert, who has been in the news lately because of her crashed marriage, caused a commotion on the Third Mainland Bridge on Thursday, while she attempted to jump into the lagoon.
Reports revealed that Frida’s husband, Demola, had packed out of their matrimonial home to meet a side chick he was dating before their marriage.
In reaction to the current predicament in her life, Frida was seen on a viral video on Thursday, reportedly drove her Lexus SUV to the bridge, came down and attempted to jump into the Lagoon, while she was rescued by some people at the scene.
However, Farida in viral video shared online on Friday, expressed appreciation to those who had rescued her from the suicide attempt, and those that showed concern over her ordeal, at the moment.
The beauty enthusiast however pleaded with her family members for their forgiveness, for causing them such an embarrassment, by attempting to end her life.
According to the socialite, her estranged husband had pledged commitment to their marriage but fell short of the promises.
Farida further explained that the viral story of her marriage crash on social media caused a sense of depression to her.
“My name is Farida Abdulqadir. I am going to say a few things in Yoruba. If I say it in English, is not going to go, the way I want it to go, so I’m going to say it in Yoruba, because of the saga on Instagram.
“First and foremost, I will start with thank you. I want to thank those who stood by me. I want to thank my family, my friends, my aunties.
“I want to thank my loved ones, those who stood by me, at the moment, at the moment I embarrassed myself on social media, on Instagram, on Facebook.
“I was intoxicated by love, love pushed me to that extent. Those who are in my shoes, who have been intoxicated by love, will understand what I’m saying.
“I am not a baby, I know what I am saying. I am not full, to have spent my money, my body, on someone who promised me true love. Someone, who promised to make me have my children. Someone who promised to stay with me forever,” she explained.
She however wished her estranged husband well in his future marriage, while also apologising for forgiveness, if she had caused any harm to him in the past.
