The Lagos State Police Command, on Wednesday, disclosed that it has arrested a man for vandalising bridge railings.
This was made known by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his Twitter Page on Thursday.
The vandal on Carter Bridge was reported to the police by a driver, according to Hundeyin, who also noted that inquiries were still underway.
He wrote, “At about 3:15 am yesterday, a motorist informed the police of a vandal on Carter Bridge. Officers from Ebute-ero Division swiftly moved in and caught Mastru Mutairu ‘m’ aged 30 actively vandalizing bridge railings. He took to his heels but was arrested.”
Recall that the federal government recently ordered the immediate closure of the Ijora-Olopa Bridge on the back of the discovery that some miscreants have tampered with the major reinforcement elements of the deck from underneath.
