The Lagos State Government has partnered ARCA Payment Ltd. to develop a parking payment application that will enhance coordinated parking operations.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed during a meeting between the Lagos State Parking Authority and ARCA Payment Ltd on Tuesday.
The State Government through LASPA stated that the deployment of technology gadgets across it’s parks is to ensure a seamless parking experience across the metropolis, the Lagos State Government.
The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs Adebisi Adelabu, said that the move was to improve the overall parking system by ensuring a seamless transaction process for permits, registration, inquiry among others.
Adelabu stated that the effort ensures a stress-free experience for end-users of the authority’s services, emphasizing the impact on reconciliation and revenue assurance for the government.
The general manager emphasized that the authority was committed to assisting various organizations and business entities in identifying and proposing long-term solutions to their parking challenges, as most organizations operating in the state lacked adequate parking space, contributing to indiscriminate parking.
She stated that the government had begun the installation of signage and lane markings in phases around the state to inform cars and pedestrians on available parking lots while explaining the numerous interventions implemented to prevent indiscriminate parking across the state.
