The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has taken drastic measures against establishments violating environmental laws in the Lekki Phase I area, sealing off several businesses and a church.
The state Commissioner, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post shared on X.com on Friday.
According to Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab, Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, “This proactive measure by LASEPA underscores its commitment to fostering a serene and sustainable environment that prioritizes cleanliness, safety, and environmental responsibility.”
The affected establishments, including Kingfisher, Red Lagos, Logic Church, and Bolivar, were found to be non-compliant with environmental laws despite prior warnings.
Wahab emphasized that LASEPA’s action is part of its efforts to uphold environmental regulations and combat noise pollution, stating, “We will not tolerate environmental infractions in Lagos State.”
This move follows the recent sealing of Landcraft Industries Nigeria and Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light) for similar offences, demonstrating the state government’s determination to enforce environmental laws.
