The Lagos State Government has announced a two weeks traffic diversion on the Ikorodu bound service lane which takes effect from Monday 23, January, 2023.
As disclosed in a statement signed by the commissioner of transportation in the state, Frederick Oladele.
Oladele noted that the partial road closure is in furtherance of the rehabilitation works in the Ojota interchange to the portion of the Ojota second pedestrian bridge on Ikorodu Road.
The commissioner disclosed that it is necessary to carry out the repair because it was observed that some asphalts are failing at the edge of the ramps inwards Iyana-Oworo/Gbagada axis and Seven-Up on Along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
He added that some alternative routes have been made available for the motorists to make use of, during the rehabilitation period.
However, diversion points as explained by the commissioner; Vehicles coming from Maryland on the service Lane will be diverted at the second pedestrian bridge into the Main Carriage Way to make a turn at Mile 12 Underpass and continue their trip on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway or link Demurin Road at Ketu axis of the Express.
Oladeinde then gave an assurance that the officers of the State Traffic Management Authority and other traffic management agencies will be available to ensure free flow of traffic.
The commissioner also appeal to the motorists and Lagos state residents to take caution and support the project in order to find a lasting solutions to the traffic problem, experienced around the affected area.
