The operatives of the zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Ilorin, Kwara State have arrested a cleric and 27 others suspected to be internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo-Yahoo Boys” in the state.
The suspects were apprehended in Mandate area of the Ilorin metropolis.
The commission’s successful made the arrest following intelligence on the activities of fraudsters operating in the area.
The list of the suspects include twin brothers, six students of tertiary institutions, mining operator and other specialised private individuals.
Those arrested include; Toheeb Albarka, cleric; Lambe Kehinde and Lambe Taye, twin brothers; Francis Stephen, Olabode Yusuf and Musbaudeen Akorede who trade in dog selling respectively; Moshood Okunola, Kayode Aderemi, Ayobami Olorunfemi, Paul Ayomide, Agboola Marvellous and Adebisi Olatunde, who are all undergraduates.
Others are Olaleye Solomon, miner; Akinade Samuel, technician; Damilola Shagaya real estate developer; Muhammed Awal, graphic designer; Adam Mubarak anti-money laundering analyst; Ogundiran Nathaniel , tiler; Jamiu Ishola , printer ; Dauda Tunde,(plumber; Abdullahi Sikiru, Bet Naija agent; Kasali Afeez Adegoke , website developer; Jordan Adeyinka wears/shoe dealer, and a driver, Ojeniyi Boluwatife.
Others, according to EFCC source, are Adedamola Samson, Olarewaju Adisa Taofeek, Adewale Oloro and Omogbolahan Ibrahim
It was gathered that items recovered from the suspects include ten exotic cars, different brands of laptops and cell phones, printer among others, the source added.
It was said that the suspects would be arraigned in court after thorough investigations.
