The Kogi State High Court sitting at Isanlu, in the Yagba East Local Government Area of the state, has jailed a 38-year-old man, Babatunde Adura, for robbery.
The inmate was charged with armed robbery and criminal conspiracy in 2020 together with two others but his accomplices escaped from jail during the Kabba jailbreak in December 2021.
The trial judge, Justice Abubakar Ibrahim, on Wednesday, found the convict guilty of the offence after he confessed to the sale of items carted away during the robbery.
The robbery occurred in August 2020 at Olukere-Amuro in the Mopa-Moro LGA of the state, where Adura and his gang members broke into many houses and dispossessed victims of valuables, including phones.
Adura was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for robbery and six months for criminal conspiracy.
