Nigerian music star Daniel Anidugbe, widely known as Kizz Daniel, has announced a break from releasing new music after the release of his forthcoming EP, Uncle K.
The EP, set to debut on November 29, 2024, will be his last project until 2026, the artist revealed on his X (formerly Twitter) handle.
“This is it for now. I won’t be dropping anything again until 2026,” Kizz Daniel wrote, sparking a range of reactions from fans who expressed both disappointment and support.
Kizz Daniel, who first rose to prominence with his 2016 hit Woju, has since built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most consistent hitmakers.
With five studio albums and an impressive lineup of chart-topping singles, his work has played a significant role in shaping the global appeal of Afrobeats.
Amid preparations for the EP’s release, the singer shared a deeply personal moment, revealing that his wife recently lost her mother to breast cancer. He called on his dedicated fanbase, known as the Vaddicts, to offer prayers for her family.
“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m mourning with her. Vaddicts, please say a prayer for her mom,” he shared in his post.
The announcement of his hiatus has stirred mixed feelings, with fans lamenting the wait but looking forward to Uncle K as a farewell gift.
The EP promises to encapsulate the artistry that has kept Kizz Daniel at the forefront of Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.
