Nigerian Correctional Service has deployed Bala Dan’ azumi Kitsam as the new Controller of Corrections of Yobe State Command.
This was made known in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Haruna Isa in Damaturu, the state capital.
He said that Kitsam is the 4th Controller of Corrections in the state, since former President Muhammadu Buhari signed into law the act changing the name of the Nigeria Prisons Service to Nigerian Correctional Service in 2019.
The statement said he took over the mantle of leadership from the immediate past Controller of Corrections, Yusufu Sambo who has now been elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller General of Corrections and was deployed to the service’s national headquarters, Abuja.
The new Controller, CC Bala Dan’azumi Kitsam who is an indigene of Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, bagged a B.Tech (Hons) Agric Technology from the Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa state.
“The new Controller of Corrections has served in different capacities, and various strategic offices across commands and formations.
“Until his posting as the new Controller of Corrections, Yobe State command, he was the officer-in-charge of the Non-Custodial Service, Bauchi state command,” the statement added.
The command urged the residents of the state to cooperate with the Nigerian Correctional Service in the area of reformation, rehabilitation, and reintegration of offenders and other aspects capable of strengthening the peace and security of the state.
