Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved a temporary reduction in official working hours for civil servants throughout the month of Ramadan.
This decision was announced in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Establishment, Pension, and Training, Awwal Dogondaji, and shared with journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
As part of preparations for the fasting period, the state government had earlier directed both public and private schools to conclude the second term by Friday, allowing Muslim faithful to fully observe Ramadan.
Detailing the adjustment, Dogondaji stated, “The newly approved hours for the state civil servants from Monday to Thursday is now from 8am to 1pm, while Friday is from 8am to 12pm.”
He further clarified that regular working hours would be reinstated after Ramadan.
In addition, the commissioner urged residents to remain committed to prayers, seeking peace and stability for both the state and Nigeria as a whole.
