A prayer meeting for a peaceful end to the ongoing political impasse in the nearby Niger Republic was organized by Katsina State on Thursday.
Additionally, prayers for overall peace in the state and throughout Nigeria were said.
The prayer session was held at the
Katsina’s Government House’s Peoples Square.
Governor Dikko Radda, his deputy, Alhaji Faruq Jobe, and the state’s secretary to the government, Alhaji Abdullahi Faskari, among others, were present at the meeting.
During the two-hour prayer session that commenced at 11 o’clock, Islamic clerics and various organisations engaged in the recitation of the Holy Quran and offered prayers.
During his remarks at the event, Radda emphasised the importance of Nigerians offering prayers for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the Niger Republic.
Additionally, he emphasised the necessity of providing comprehensive backing to President Bola Tinubu and the Economic Community of West African States in their efforts to address and find a resolution to the ongoing situation.
The governor declared, “What we have been doing here this morning is to pray to the Almighty Allah to see to the peaceful and amicable resolution of the crisis in the Niger Republic.
” We are also calling on Allah to bring peace to our state and help us tackle banditry and other crimes.
“I urge us all to go back home and render full support for President Bola Tinubu and ECOWAS in seeing to the amicable resolution of the crisis in Niger Republic.”
