The Katsina State Government has officially lifted the curfew that was imposed in the wake of the #EndBadGovernance protest, which had been disrupted by miscreants, leading to the destruction of public property.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Katsina, the Director of Press for the Office of the Secretary to the State Government ,Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua conveyed this development.
He announced, “Following reports on prevailing peace and harmony in all parts of the state, the acting governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has lifted the curfew imposed on the state with immediate effect.”
The decision to lift the curfew, according to the acting governor, is intended to allow residents to resume their daily activities without any restrictions.
This move is seen as a step toward restoring normalcy in the state after the recent unrest.
The state government has further called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or movements to the authorities to ensure swift intervention.
The acting governor reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to addressing the security challenges that have plagued the state.
He also expressed gratitude to the security forces and the people of Katsina for their support and cooperation during these trying times.
In his appeal for continued support, cooperation, and prayers, the acting governor emphasized, “No meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.” His words underline the government’s recognition that peace is fundamental to the state’s progress and stability.
