A tricyclist, Bala Abdulrahman, who resides in Gunduwawa, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, has reportedly returned lost money discovered on the roadside to the police.
The ‘keke’ rider, upon the discovery of the undisclosed sum, reported to the authorities.
The state command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the report in a statement.
“On 14/06/2023 at about 1330hrs (1:30 pm), one Bala Abdulrahman a tricycle rider and resident of Gunduwawa, Gezawa LGA reported himself at Fagge Police Division, Kano, that while he was on his business, he saw a suspicious item in black leather by the roadside along Kwanar Dawaki in Dawakin Kudu LGA, found and picked the item where he found some huge amount of money, hence, delivered it to the police,” the statement reads.
The command’s spokesperson added that the state police commissioner, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, has applauded the ‘keke’ rider for his honesty and good conduct.
He called on the people of the state to tow the right path as well as report suspicious people and items, among others, to the nearest police station.
