The Kano State Police Command has apprehended Sadiq Zubairu, 35, for murdering his former colleague, Bello Adam, 45, over a failed job promise and a N3 million debt.
According to The PUNCH, Zubairu had pretended to help Adam secure a job at the Federal Inland Revenue Service in exchange for the money. No
According to a family source and police reports, Zubairu invited Adam to his house, tied him up, and brutally attacked him with sticks and sharp iron until he became motionless.
According to a family source quoted by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, tweeting as @ZagazOlaMakama early Friday, he wrote, “A family member of the deceased just contacted us on the story where he reported another version of the story.
“He said, “Regards the story of the guy that killed his friend, his name is Sadiq Jibrin with an active handle on X @sadiqsolar and the deceased is Bello Bukar Adam. He didn’t borrow the money.
“He lied to Bello (his former colleague at KEDCO) that he would help him secure employment with the FIRS. After weeks, there was no job offer and no money. There was pressure from Bello on Zubairu and that was when he invited Bello to his house and carried out the heinous act.”
Zubairu invited the deceased to his house, “tied him up, and hit him with sticks and sharp iron on his head and other parts of his body until he became motionless,” police said.
He then dumped the body by the roadside and stole Adam’s Toyota Corolla car and mobile phone.
The police received a report from Adam’s brother on May 5, 2024, and discovered the body later that evening.
After a swift investigation, they arrested Zubairu the next day and recovered the stolen vehicle.
During questioning, Zubairu confessed to the crime, revealing that he had conspired with two others to kill Adam due to his inability to repay the N3 million and secure the promised job.
The police are still searching for the two accomplices.
The Kano State Police Command has condemned the heinous act and assured the public of their commitment to justice and safety.
The case serves as a warning against fraudulent schemes and the devastating consequences of greed and deceit.
