The Kano State Police command has clarified the confusion which trailed the explosion that rocked Kano State last week Tuesday.
While many had stated that the explosion was a bomb explosion, some quarters with a different opinion claimed that the explosion was a result of a gas explosion, according to Vanguard.
Based on the outcome of an investigation by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal-Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense, EOD-CBRN and Puff Ader, it was confirmed that the last Tuesday’s explosion that rocked Kano was from Improvised Explosive Device, IED, and not gas cylinder as earlier claimed. It was also revealed that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
As revealed by the Public Relations Officer, PRO of the Kano State Police Command, nine victims of the explosion, one of them dealt in illicit storage of toxic chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Also, the names of the victims who died in the explosion and whose bodies were recovered and names released by the Police were Ejike Vincent (welder), Michael Adejo (chemical seller), Musa Kalla (tea seller), Christiana Abosede and Mary.
