A divorcee, Rahma Sulaiman has been arrested in Kano for allegedly kidnapping her six-year-old daughter in Madobi Local Government of the state.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel made this known on Thursday while parading 16 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers and drug dealers within the Kano metropolis and some surrounding LGAs of the State.
According to a report by Daily Post, the incident happened On 08/05/2023, when one Kabiru Shehu of Sharada Quarters, Kano Municipal Local Government reported that his 25 years divorced wife, Rahma Sulaiman called and informed him that his six-year-old daughter was kidnapped.
She explained that the kidnappers called her and demanded a payment of N3,000,000 for the daughter to regain her freedom.
On tendering the report to the police, the force swung into action to rescue the victim and arrest the suspect.
Based on the investigation, the six years old victim was rescued in Madobi LGA and the divorced wife was arrested.
The divorcée confessed to taking the girl to a hideout and demanding the said sum as ransom.
The commissioner noted that the suspect will be taken to court after due investigation
