The Nigeria Correctional Service has appointed Ado Inuwa as the new Controller of the Kano State Command.
His appointment follows the retirement of Sulaiman Muhammad Inuwa, who stepped down after 35 years of service.
Before his new role in Kano, Ado Inuwa served as the Controller of Corrections for the Jigawa State Command.
The announcement of his appointment was made through a statement issued by SC Musbahu Kofar, which was shared with the media on Wednesday.
In the statement, Kofar noted that the new Controller expressed his gratitude to the officers and staff of the Kano Command for their warm welcome.
He also encouraged them to work together to improve the welfare of inmates and individuals serving non-custodial sentences.
“Ado Inuwa urged his team to collaborate for the benefit of the inmates and those serving alternative sentences,” the statement read.
In addition, the new Controller emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation with other security agencies to bolster security efforts in Kano State.
